Apple Attempts to Sneak Safari Browser Onto Windows Boxes Via Quicktime Updater

I haven’t installed Apple’s Safari browser on my desktop computer yet, but this is what showed up when the Apple Updater just ran (see screenshot below).

The update description for the Safari item is: “Safari Beta 3.0.2 is recommended for all users and improves its security and stability.”

But I never had it installed in the first place? How can it improve security of something that was never there?
